Tarot or Vedic Astrology: Which Reading Suits Your Question?

Two different instruments for two different kinds of question. A plain guide to choosing between them.

By Naveen Modgill

Different instruments, different questions

Vedic astrology works from a fixed birth chart. It is structural: it describes tendencies across a lifetime and gives timing through dashas and transits. It needs an accurate date, time and place of birth.

Tarot works from the moment of asking. It is situational: it reflects the present configuration of a specific question and its likely near-term movement. It needs no birth details.

Choose Vedic astrology when

  • The question spans years — marriage, career direction, property, settlement abroad
  • You want timing windows
  • You have reliable birth data

Choose Tarot when

  • The question is immediate and specific — "how is this negotiation likely to move?"
  • Birth details are unavailable or unreliable
  • You want a focused reading on one decision

And Prashna sits between them

Prashna, horary astrology, casts a chart for the moment of the question — the rigour of Jyotish without birth data. See Prashna: Horary Astrology and How Tarot Reading Brings Clarity.

A note on expectations

Neither instrument predicts with certainty, and neither replaces medical, legal or financial advice. Both are best used to think more clearly before you act.
