Business and Finance in the Birth Chart: Houses, Yogas and Timing
How a Jyotishi reads the 2nd, 7th, 10th and 11th houses together when the question is about business, income and financial decisions.

Money is read as a system, not a single house
A financial question is never answered from one placement. In classical practice four houses are read together: the 2nd (earned wealth and savings), the 7th (partnership and trade), the 10th (the field of work itself) and the 11th (gains, networks and the fulfilment of ambition). The lords of these houses, and where they have travelled, matter more than the houses in isolation.
Salary or self-employment?
There is no placement that says "become an entrepreneur". What a chart does show is temperament and support.
- A strong 6th house and a well-placed 6th lord often sit with people who do well inside a structure — service, employment, steady systems.
- A strong 7th and 11th, with an independent 10th lord, tends to sit with people who trade, partner and build.
- A weak or scattered 10th lord is not a warning. It usually means the field of work changes shape more than once.
Partnership questions
The 7th house is read for business partners as well as marriage. When two people plan to trade together, both charts are read, and the running Mahadasha of each is compared. A partnership entered during a supportive period for only one partner tends to become lopsided later. If you would like the background on periods, see Mahadasha and Antardasha Explained.
Timing a launch
Timing has two parts. The Dasha describes whether this is a season for expansion or consolidation. The Muhurta selects the day and hour for the act itself — registration, first payment, opening. Both are used, and neither replaces careful commercial judgement. On selecting a moment, see Muhurta: Choosing an Auspicious Time.
What a consultation can and cannot tell you
It can describe the shape of the opportunity, the periods likely to support growth, and where caution belongs. It cannot forecast revenue, replace financial advice, or guarantee an outcome. Decisions stay with you.
