D2 Chart — Hora

The Hora chart divides every Rashi into two portions of 15°. Because the division is comparatively coarse, D2 is one of the least birth-time-sensitive Vargas in the Shodasha set — a fact that makes it usable even when the recorded birth time carries some uncertainty.

In the common Parashari construction, the two Horas of a sign are allotted to the luminaries, so every planet falls into either a solar or a lunar Hora. That simple binary is the whole point of the chart: it asks how a planet participates in the sustaining, resource-holding side of a horoscope.

What the chart represents

Traditionally, this Varga is examined in connection with:

  • Financial capacity and earning ability
  • Accumulation and retention of resources
  • Sustenance and material support
  • Attitude towards money and possessions
  • The resource-holding quality of individual planets

Relationship with the D1 chart

D2 does not function as an independent financial horoscope. The promise regarding wealth is read first from the natal chart — the 2nd and 11th houses, their lords, the condition of Venus and Jupiter, and any recognised wealth-related combinations.

Only once that natal picture is established does the Hora add a refinement, indicating how strongly a particular planet participates in the sustaining side of the chart.

What astrologers traditionally examine

  • Which Hora each significator of wealth occupies
  • The natal 2nd and 11th houses and their lords
  • Whether the natal wealth indications are supported or diluted in D2
  • The overall consistency between D1 and D2 rather than one placement

What this chart should not be used for

  • Predicting a specific income figure or net worth
  • Declaring a person wealthy or poor from a single Hora placement
  • Replacing the natal 2nd/11th-house analysis

Relationship with Dashas

Financial themes are traditionally examined for timing through the Mahadasha and Antardasha of planets connected with the 2nd and 11th houses. D2 helps assess the quality of those significators; the Dasha sequence indicates the periods during which the theme may become more prominent.
